Our Heritage
We may have opened our doors back in 2002 as the country’s first online shoe retailer, but Bootsonyou.com’s roots started decades before when an 10-year-old sold his first pair of shoes in his father’s Seattle shoe store. His name was Dan Gerler and that feeling of elation in making the customer smile never left him.
Years later, Dan took over the reins and brought comfort and style to even more locations. But something was still missing.
Enter the Internet.
Dan immediately saw how he could further enhance his customers’ lives online, not only with convenience, but with the confidence of a neighborhood shoe store. So working out of a back storeroom, he took his family business online, never forgetting the ideals and service his father instilled in him so long ago.

Our Giving
We think it’s important to reach out and get people back on their feet, both figuratively and literally. That’s why we donate hundreds of pairs of shoes to the Hana Youth and Senior Center in Maui each year, as well as give back to numerous charitable organizations including Dress for Success, the Seattle Senior Center and the YWCA.
